- The newer Lithium-Disilicate based veneers are much stronger and you may not need to have crowns and having porcelain veneers protectively potentially protect and conserve worn or cracked teeth.
- Your confidence, speech and appearance will drastically improve.
How Are They Done?
The dental veneer procedure can often be completed in two visits over the course of a couple of weeks. Your dentist should do a thorough examination on your smile, facial structure, and health of the teeth. Several photographs will be taken on your teeth and face and a few molds will be taken with your bite. Colors will be examined and the best shade will be selected. Dr. Oh and Dr.Estafan are especially trained in this area to evaluate and design for the best outcome possible with veneer procedures. Our doctors will create a perfect blueprint on the mold of your teeth prior to establish a guideline for the top dental technician to follow for your veneers.
During the procedures you will likely to receive local anesthetic so you will be comfortable during tooth preparation and placement of the veneer. Your natural tooth is then prepared by minimally reshaping it with a small handheld rotational cutting device called a bur to allow precise contouring. Once the preparation is completed, a highly detailed impression is made for the laboratory technician to fabricate the veneers. Then our doctors will place temporary veneers using the perfect blueprint of the final outcome. Out doctors work intensely on these temporary veneers and most often the patients cannot believe that the temporary veneers look and function beautifully. Once the doctors complete the bite, speech and the smile, the mold of the temporary would be made. Patients should take be careful during temporary phases not to chew hard food since they can be brittle.
Porcelain Veneers- Second Visit
During the second visit, the finished porcelain veneers would be cemented. The temporary would come off with the bur and the teeth would be cleaned and disinfected. The veneers would be then cemented and necessary adjustments would be made. Dr. Oh and Dr. Estafan always recommends follow up visit since patients are numb at the time of insertion. However, most patients do not need follow up visit, but rather routine check up and cleaning.
